Seongho Bae
Director of Research & Development Karis Bio
Seongho Bae brings more than two decades of experience in stem cell and cardiovascular biology to Karis Bio. He was involved in diverse research such as novel gene identification, cell cycle regulation, and the identification of molecular markers for oriental medicine using embryonic carcinoma cells and embryonic stem cells during his PhD program at Korea University. He has been working at Emory University School of Medicine as postdoctoral research fellow to study cardiovascular cellular differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells, direct reprogramming of human fibroblasts into endothelial cells, and generation of vascularized cardiac organoids.
Seminars
- Patient-Derived Complexity: Leveraging bespoke evaluation platforms to navigate the biological diversity of patient-specific iPSC sources
- Non-Editing Solutions: Establishing high-fidelity functional assays to ensure therapeutic consistency and IND readiness in non-gene edited products
- Translation Strategy: Data-driven approaches to bridge the gap between laboratory-scale characterization and clinical-grade therapeutic production
